Ground Set Up for the Build Ahead

Plenty of the problems builders run into on site come back to poor preparation. Soft spots, bad drainage and levels that don't match the plans all cost time later on. We check your plans and the site first, then give you a clear price for getting the ground ready.

Cut and Fill.

Sloping sections cut and filled to create usable, level ground, with the fill placed and compacted in layers so it stays put.

Levelling and Compaction.

Sites levelled to the heights your builder or engineer has set, then compacted so the ground under your slab is firm and even.

Driveways and Access.

Driveway formation and access tracks prepared for metal or concrete, giving trucks and trades a solid way in and out during the build.

Commercial Site Preparation.

Commercial yards, carparks and building sites prepared to spec, with drainage and levels set up to suit the finished job.

Process

How We Handle It

Site preparation starts with the plans and the ground. We look at the design levels, the soil and how water moves across the site. A lot of Northland clay drains poorly, and a building platform sitting in a wet spot can cause trouble for years. If your engineer has set compaction requirements, we work to them.

You’ll know the timing before we start. Wet weather can slow earthworks down, so we keep you updated if things move, and any extra work is priced before it’s done.

Plan.
Plans, levels and site conditions checked, then a clear price given.
Prepare.
Topsoil stripped, cut and fill done, and the ground levelled and compacted.
Hand Over.
A firm, level site set up to shed water, ready for your builder to start.
